Hello, I'm Tom. I'm a former sports business journalist turned marketing communications professional. I specalise in digital content, campaigns and strategy. Below a quick look at some of the things I've produced. For things i've written, click here.

Alpine F1 Team Slow Motion Compilation

This video deserves more views. Fun way of repurposing the various bits of slow mo footage captured by the team througout the season. Would've liked more super slow mo stuff. Think the classical music works really well, also not in copyright!

PATH TO PERFORMANCE #1

Spent a fantastic two days with Fernando Alonso at the Alpine F1 factory in Enstone exploring all of the marginal gains that translate to on-track lap times. Fernando really didn't want to be there but turned it on once the cameras started rolling.

PATH TO PERFRORMANCE

Spent a fantastic couple of days filming with the Alpine F1 Team and Fernando Alonso during one of the Covid Summers at the team's base in Enstone. Alonso really didn't want to be there but was a total pro once the cameras were rolling.

Geared Up: MotoGP Pitstop

I love this format. I call it an instascroll but there's probably other terms for it. Animated video gallery? Really brings the sites and sounds of the pitlane to life in a way that isn't simply another video.

Geared Up: Performing Under Pressure

Managed to make my way to Austria during the pandemic to film this two-part series for DHL about the role mechanics play in MotoGP. Amazing to be up close with the teams. Racetracks are very noisy places.

Geared Up: Innovating at 340kph

The second episode of the Geared Up series focused on the importance of innovation within MotoGP - how small adjustments can shave seconds off laptime and crew chiefs' thoughts on what the 'next big thing' in the sport might be.

Electrifying The Future

In this video, MotoE sponsors DHL and Allianz teamed up to take a group of motorbike enthusiasts and influencers to San Marino for on a test ride of the Energica Ego as a way of kickstarting the debate about the future of electric bikes.

Kyoko: Epic Delivery Girl

Really enjoyed producing this four-part anime series showcasing DHL's sponsorship of Rugby World Cup in Japan. Jeremy Nixon, the very talented animator I worked with on the project, has a cool explanation of how it came together on his website.

Rugby World Cup Wrap

Working remotely we got through a huge volume of work at really weird times during the Rugby World Cup, this wrap video doesn't even scratch the surface!

Jamie Heaslip: Rugby Roots

Ahead of the Rugby World Cup, the Rugby Roots series saw legends revisting their old amateur clubs, this shoot with Jamie Heaslip happened on a freezing day in Dublin.

Home Of The Trucker

Trucker caps were all the rage a couple of years ago (maybe they still are?). This was the hero edit for a huge multi-channel marketing that ran across Europe. We sold a lot of truckers that year.

Jay Ajayi: Homecoming

Spent the day filming London-born NFL player Jay Ajayi as he revisited his roots in Hackney and managed to capture a great suprise reveal with the youth team of the London Blitz.

Virat Kohli: Design Session

I only had 15 minutes warning that Virat Kohli was coming into the New Era office and to prepare for this interview. Fortunately, the world's best batsman is also a really nice guy.

Head In The Game

Fun little edit that I worked on with Alan Buxton for Super Bowl LII. As well as the 'long' version we chopped everything up into social media snippets for posting during the game.

Sven Thorgren design session

Swedish snowboarder and X Games bronze medalist Sven Thorgren paid a visit to the New Era office in London after signing as brand ambassador back in 2016.

Dom Joly interview goes wrong

One of the last things I did at Audible was to film this spoof interview with Dom Joly to promote his new book. Really love that people can't tell if it's real or not.
